Tree species classification using UAV photographs

Tree species classification is performed using UAV photos. In the future, we aim to further improve efficiency by enabling automatic classification of multiple coniferous and broadleaf tree species using AI.
Tree-by-tree analysis using 3D point clouds

Using data on the forest surface, ground height, crown shape, etc. obtained from 3D point cloud data obtained by UAV laser surveying, the position and height of each tree are analyzed, and even timber volume is estimated from the crown shape.
UAV dose rate measurement

Based on the method used in aircraft monitoring, a method optimized for low-altitude UAV measurements by the Department of Information Engineering, College of Engineering, Nihon University will be used to perform a planar analysis of high-resolution air dose rates at a height of 1m above ground.
Survey of tidal flats and brackish water areas

Using a UAV green laser, it is possible to obtain point cloud data of vegetation such as mangroves adjacent to the coast. The obtained point cloud data of the ground surface under the vegetation can be used as basic information for conservation planning, etc.
Coral Reef Survey

By combining 3D coral reef images with UAV photographs, we are conducting research to understand the topography and distribution of coral, and to utilize this information for coral conservation planning.
Bird and animal damage control

In Japan, the damage caused by deer and wild boars is increasing significantly. Images taken by thermal cameras mounted on UAVs can help us understand the deer population and their behavioral patterns. This information is useful for formulating plans to eradicate wild animals that have overpopulated.
River water quality survey

We can conduct water quality surveys to assess the water conditions suitable for salmon hatching and breeding, and consider evaluations and plans based on survey results.
Soil survey

We conduct radioactivity surveys in the soil (air dose measurements and sample collection for radioactivity analysis), consider methods of soil disposal and utilization, and can handle everything from surveys to evaluations.
