Students from Soma High School visited our company for a tour.

First, for about an hour, I explained what kind of business our company conducts, and how we have been working towards the recovery and reconstruction of the region, which is headquartered in Tomioka Town, a town that experienced the Great East Japan Earthquake. The students listened attentively with serious expressions on their faces and listened with great interest.

Afterward, we moved to Tomioka Winery and conducted a drone (UAV) flight demonstration. When we actually flew a small drone and showed the students the footage from the camera mounted on the aircraft in real time, they were surprised and cheered. We also raised the drone to the height of the tsunami that reached Tomioka Fishing Port during the Great East Japan Earthquake, allowing them to experience that height and deepen their understanding of the scale of the disaster and the threat of natural disasters.

After the drone experience, participants also toured Tomioka Winery, where they learned about the region's attractions and its recovery efforts.

We hope this visit will give students an opportunity to think about their local area, industries, and future careers, and serve as a guidepost in their career path.
Years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the number of people who do not know about the disaster is increasing. We will continue our activities to pass on the lessons learned from the disaster, the progress of reconstruction, and the efforts toward the future of our region to the next generation.
