Report on carbon neutral initiatives at wineries

On the 18th, I flew from Fukushima Airport via New Chitose Airport to Otaru, and have been staying in Hokkaido until today, with Otaru as my base.

Yesterday, the Hokkaido Shiribeshi Regional Development Bureau held an event at Niki Hills Winery in Niki Town.
I was invited to give a lecture (on the topic of carbon neutral initiatives in wineries).
Approximately 50 people attended the event, including people involved with wineries in Hokkaido, various related companies, and local governments, and I gave a lecture there.

This time, we reported on the purpose of Tomioka Wine, its role in reconstruction and revitalization, and the results of our research into carbon neutrality (demonstration tests over the past five years on decarbonization in the process from cultivation to brewing and sales).

Before and after the lecture, we visited Hokkaido Wine, Ochigabi Winery, and Niki Hills Winery and toured their facilities.
We are planning to open a winery in Tomioka Town next spring, so it was very helpful to hear about the facilities and history of each winery.
It was also an opportunity to learn a lot, such as about the founder's thoughts on wine and his spirit.

We are grateful for the connections we have made with the people at Hokkaido wineries and hope to deepen these ties.
