Former Chairman Returns to Tomioka
The day before yesterday marked the first anniversary of the death and interment of my father (Katsuya Endo), our former chairman. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported my father during his lifetime. And since his passing, I have been able to slowly return to a peaceful life. My father always said, "I'll return to Tomioka Town before anyone else." Yesterday, his ashes were interred in a grave in Tomioka Town. I'm sure he has many thoughts about returning to his hometown, witnessing its future recovery, and being with his parents and many ancestors. It seems to me that my father, who returned to Tomioka before anyone else, was indeed true to his word. I'm sure he'll spend more time in Tomioka Town in the future, working to inform my father of the daily changes in his hometown. This photo was taken in front of the entrance to the main house, which was swept away by the tsunami.
