Our overseas efforts were featured in Fukushima Minpo 20160313
Our company has been providing technical support overseas (ODA) since before the earthquake. Our land conservation and disaster prevention strengthening projects in Tuvalu were featured in the March 13, 2016, morning edition of the Fukushima Minpo newspaper. One month after the earthquake, we moved our headquarters from Tomioka to Koriyama City and have been primarily involved in tsunami damage recovery in the Hamadori area and urban development planning for my hometown of Futaba County, which became uninhabitable due to the nuclear accident. At the same time, we are actively involved in disaster prevention, coastal erosion, and environmental conservation in coastal areas overseas. We have worked with six island nations: Seychelles, Indonesia, the Philippines, Mauritius, Tuvalu, and Madagascar. Our commitment to expanding from rural areas to rural areas and vice versa is based on the following goals:
- There are many common issues between local areas in Japan and the national level of developing countries. ⇒ Community-based approaches can also be applied to overseas businesses.
- Contributing to disaster prevention around the world through Fukushima's experience
- Introducing flexible overseas systems to local areas
- Developing flexible engineers and people with a broad perspective
- Cultivating an international perspective and applying it to the reconstruction and revitalization of his hometown, Futaba County
- Helping to revive Futaba County, where international exchange is expected to flourish in the future ⇒ Spreading the current situation in Fukushima widely and providing accurate information and facts
Futaba Corporation has many missions and challenges ahead.
