Introduction to new employee training Part 1

Hello, this is Watanabe from the Public Relations Committee.

This time, we will be reporting on the new employee training that took place over the course of about a month after they joined the company, in two parts, covering the training and interviewing the new employees!

This is what the new employee training program at Futaba looks like. After joining the company, employees will undergo external training to learn business etiquette and the etiquette required of working adults, and after this, they will undergo two weeks of internal training.

In the first part, we will introduce the employee training!

In-house training will be held at [Seinobako] - Futaba Exchange Center.

The president and vice president will talk about working at Futaba, including the company's history since its founding and how work is carried out, while the general affairs department will explain the company's rules.

The Business Promotion Department, Surveying Division, and Design Division will then explain the activities of their respective departments, including practical training.

First, we'll listen to an introduction to surveying work, the work flow of the Surveying Department, and an explanation of the equipment, and then we'll actually try using a total station (TS)!

Nakade-san: It was my first time installing a TS, so it was quite difficult... I made a mistake in the procedure, so I'll make a note of what I was taught so that I can do it smoothly the next time I use it!

Furukawa-san: It was my first time handling all the equipment, but my senior colleagues taught me carefully, and I learned how to use it and what to be careful of!

It may be difficult at first, but keep trying! We have high hopes for the future success of these two.

Next, listen to an explanation of 3D measuring equipment, then practice piloting a drone and processing the data. The 3D measuring equipment used at Futaba includes the following:

As opportunities to use 3D data are increasing not only in the geospatial information field, such as environmental surveys, but also in surveying and design, disaster response, and preservation of cultural assets, we are considering a training plan to enable many employees to operate 3D data. New employee training is the first step.

Nakade: I manually took off and landed the drone. I was nervous when I was landing, worried that I might hit something. Drone use is an area that Futaba is focusing on, so I would like to become proficient in using many 3D devices.

Furukawa-san: During this training, I had the opportunity to operate the drone for takeoff and landing, and I was able to get a little hands-on with it. In the future, I would like to learn and practice not only takeoff and landing, but also other operations!

Both of them were excited to touch a drone for the first time. At the moment of takeoff and landing, you can feel the excitement of floating.

Finally, you will learn about design and creating design drawings, and actually create drawings using CAD software.

Nakade-san: I created a simple drawing, but I'm still not sure, and each action took a long time. This will be a software I use often from now on, so I'd like to practice more to get used to how to use it.

Furukawa-san: I learned that when creating blueprints, it is important to be able to correctly understand the information. I would like to further hone this ability!

Each department may use different software, so there are some things you can only experience during your training period.

In addition, the training ended with participants learning about (listening to) the work content (introductions to activities) at Futaba, including sales, overseas, cultural assets, regional design, VR, and BIM/CIM. Thank you to all the employees who cooperated.

In the next part, we will bring you a summary of the training: the presentation.
