Sato SuzuRIN SATO

Tomioka Head Office / Regional Design Department

Q.

Please tell us why you decided to join Futaba.

I want to utilize my civil engineering knowledge

I wanted to find a job where I could use the civil engineering I learned at university, and I also wanted to give back to Fukushima Prefecture, where I was born and raised. I heard about the earthquake at a Futaba company briefing session, and when I visited Tomioka Town for university research, I learned that the area still bears the scars of the disaster. I wondered if there was anything I could do as a native of Fukushima Prefecture, so I applied to join the company.

Q.

What is your impression of the company now that you have actually joined?

I work surrounded by kind senior superiors

There were many things I was confused about because it was all new to me, but I was surrounded by kind senior superiors and was able to carry out my work with peace of mind. I would like to first do my daily work reliably so that I can one day become someone who can kindly teach my juniors.

Q.

You are a member of the Regional Design Division. What kind of work does it involve?

Creating a good design plan that meets your needs.

The Regional Design Department is roughly divided into the Surveying Department and the Design Department, and I work as an engineer in the Design Department. We receive orders from prefectures, cities, towns, and villages, and are involved in urban development and civil engineering design. Our work involves creating better design plans that meet the needs of our customers.

Q.

What is the work environment like?

It's an environment where you can actively participate in training.

Tomioka Town is a very warm and comfortable place to live. At the company, I actively participate in training and other activities, which helps me improve my skills. I also think that being actively involved in work, learning through practice, and gaining experience are great strengths.

Q.

What kind of job do you want to do in the future?

I would like to work in a position that is close to the local community.

I would like to gain experience by working in infrastructure-related jobs necessary for daily life, such as road maintenance, and in town development that is close to the lives of local people. Although I don't have much knowledge right now, I would like to learn and absorb as much as I can through my work.

Message to job seekers

A company where you can get involved in things that interest you

I know it's tough being a job seeker during the COVID-19 pandemic, unable to fully pursue what you want to do, and feeling like you have so many unknowns. First of all, try to remember what you want to do and what you have learned. I think that by facing yourself, you will be able to see what you want to do. I hope that all job seekers will have a result they will not regret.
