Takahashi SatsukiSATSUKI TAKAHASHI
Koriyama Branch / Spatial Information Department
Please tell us why you decided to join Futaba.
I want to contribute to Fukushima with new technology
I wanted to incorporate new technologies while working on disaster recovery and cultural heritage preservation. At university, I was researching the reproduction of real-world buildings using VR, and I was interested in Futaba because we use point clouds and VR technology, and we preserve and utilize what already exists as data.
What is your impression of the company now that you have actually joined?
Continuing to take on new challenges
Not only within the prefecture but also overseas in countries such as Peru and Indonesia, the company works in collaboration with various institutions such as universities and local governments to carry out a wide range of tasks, and it seems that the company is always trying new things, incorporating technologies such as UAVs, lasers, and thermography.
You are in the Spatial Information Division. What kind of work does it involve?
Supporting technical development and proposals
We go to the site to take measurements, process the measurement data and photos, and then analyze and consider them. I think this department supports Futaba in producing better products through technical development and proposals.
What is the work environment like?
There is a close psychological distance between employees
Regardless of department or position, employees are close to each other and everyone is friendly, making communication easy and creating a homely atmosphere. The wooden building has a warm atmosphere, yet it is an environment where you can calmly concentrate on your work.
What kind of job do you want to do in the future?
I want to be involved in cultural property work using VR and 3D related technologies.
I would like to work in the field of cultural heritage, which I have been interested in since before joining the company. I would also like to create content using the VR and 3D related technologies I learned at university, to help convey cultural heritage and Fukushima to many people in an easier-to-understand way and make them feel closer to them.
