[In-house training] Lecture on "Urban Development" held

Today, we invited Mr. Akira Saito of Ohba Corporation's Tohoku Branch to our Tomioka headquarters to give a lecture on urban development. His lecture covered a wide range of topics, from the historical background of urban development to current needs, including "What is urban development?", "How have cities been formed?", "What is the work of urban development?", and "What does the future hold for urban development?" Historically, disasters such as the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Great Kanto Earthquake have been closely intertwined with urban development. His talk on the importance of the PDCA cycle and the importance of building consensus with the community in advancing urban development plans was particularly striking. Mr. Saito also shared the specific processes and approaches used in the "basic concept" and "basic plan" for the Minamihama Tsunami Reconstruction Memorial Park in Ishinomaki City, which he was involved in.
