[CSR Activities] First grape harvest of the year♪
On Saturday, September 12th, we volunteered at the Tomioka Wine Cultivation Project. Seven members from our company participated and harvested their third year of Sauvignon Blanc (a grape variety).

Despite the heavy rain that started at 6am, many people participated in the harvest. The fun work, munching on grapes and chatting with other participants, made us forget about the pouring rain. The harvested grapes will be transported to a winery in Yamanashi Prefecture that same day, where they will be sorted before fermentation begins, and we are very much looking forward to the finished product.

Sauvignon Blanc is a variety that Auckland, New Zealand, with which Tomioka had a sister city relationship before the earthquake, is focusing on, and there are high hopes that this will serve as an opportunity to resume the sister city relationship.
The next event will be held on Saturday, September 26th. We plan to harvest Chardonnay. Volunteer wine grape cultivation activities are held once a month. If you are interested, please contact Futaba no Hirano Co., Ltd.
