Tomioka Winery grass laying day 2

We started creating a wine garden at Tomioka Winery yesterday.
Approximately 180 people participated over two days and the project was successfully completed.

More than 30,000 pieces of sod were laid. The fact that volunteers were able to lay the sod on an area of approximately 3,500m2 in just two days really brought home to me the incredible power of human beings. This is an activity that makes me happy to have the support of so many people. I would like to express my sincere gratitude.

 　 

Next week on the 29th and 30th, volunteers will be planting 3,500 seedlings.
It took nine years, but we are on track to reach 16,000 trees, the same number as the number of Tomioka town residents before the earthquake. We hope that many people will participate.
