Searching for new industries in Tuvalu

While conducting a coral distribution survey, a Tuvaluan worker caught these so-called spider shells in shallow waters. They may not look particularly appealing, but they taste exquisite, with a texture similar to abalone and a sweetness reminiscent of scallops and surf clams. These spider shells are practically free in Tuvalu. If Japanese people were to try them, they'd probably want to eat them again. Tuvalu's unemployment rate is said to be over 60%. There are simply no jobs. However, there's a large lagoon where many fish, including spider shells, can be caught. This lagoon is surrounded by small islands. The waves are calm, and the water is only about 40 meters deep at its deepest point. If aquaculture could be conducted in this lagoon, it could become a major industry. They don't realize it, but there's a huge potential right in front of them. I think Japan needs to provide technical support to help these people become self-reliant and self-sufficient.
