Business trip to Davao, Philippines
It's the fifth day since I arrived in Davao City, Mindanao. Looking toward the coast from the hotel. Martial law has been extended until the end of the year, and Japanese people are prohibited from going out between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. If they go out during the day, they must be accompanied by a guard. However, the expressions of the local government officials and the residents passing by are calm. It takes a lot of effort to be cheerful, but interacting with the simple, cheerful local people gives me energy. I hope that my experience in coastal conservation and disaster prevention so far can be of some help to this country.
Davao is President Duterte's hometown, and the current mayor and vice mayor are the president's daughter and son.
