We participated in volunteer activities to harvest sweet potatoes for potato shochu in the Namikura district of Naraha Town.

I participated in a volunteer harvest of sweet potatoes for potato shochu, which are being experimentally cultivated in the Namikura area of Naraha Town.

In the Hakura district of Naraha Town,
This spring, the Namikura District Reconstruction Association began trial cultivation of sweet potatoes for making sweet potato shochu.
As a first step, it appears that 300 seedlings of the "Kogane Senkan" variety were planted.

There are lots of beautiful sweet potatoes! The harvest was about 190kg.
We started working in the morning, and on the day we harvested together with about 15 other participants.
It seems they will be working towards brewing in the future. We look forward to seeing what they do next.
