Trial grape cultivation in Tomioka Town - plowing and ridge making
Grape cultivation trials are underway in Tomioka. Ridge preparation has been completed at the town's Obama and Shimosenri test fields. A dozen members of the cultivation club and volunteers worked on the plowing and ridge preparation, using both machines and manual labor. Everyone worked hard all day, and even now, several days later, their muscles are probably sore. The seedlings will finally be planted on March 26th. We'll start with about 300 Shiraz vines in two locations. While it's a small project, we hope it will be a major step forward. It's part of our future-oriented regional and urban development. While typical consultants are involved in creating things, creating a culture with an eye to the future, rooted in the community and aiming for steady revitalization, I believe this is a value-added consulting service. Because this region has lost so much, we're taking the time to create a new region, culture, and industry.
