Q.

Please tell us why you decided to join Futaba.

I want to work in an environment where I can take on challenges for the community.

I joined the company because I wanted to be involved in urban development in a place where I could take on challenges.
When I decided to get involved in town development, I wanted to work in an environment where I could take on challenges for the community, alongside a place where the residents think deeply about the community and have a strong desire to move forward. That's when I came across the field of Tomioka Town and a company called "Futaba." The biggest deciding factor was that I felt a strong sense of community for the company's motto of "Putting righteousness before profit."

Q.

Please tell us about the atmosphere you felt inside the company after joining the company.

An environment where you can grow as you are

It's an environment where each individual's individuality is respected and you can grow in your own way. My seniors always value my thoughts and opinions in the workplace. I also have the opportunity to take on new challenges in my work, drawing on the knowledge I gained at university and my past experiences, so I can gain experience while valuing my own opinions. I think this kind of environment is one of the attractions of Futaba.

Q.

Now that you've moved here in the spring, please tell us about life in Tomioka Town.

Relax in the mild climate and refresh yourself in the beautiful sea

Tomioka Town is a very easy place to live. Before I moved here, many people expressed their concerns, saying things like, "You're going to a difficult place." However, once I actually moved here, I found that life was comfortable and the mild climate was calming. A walk along the seawall with the beautiful ocean on one side is very refreshing, so if you visit Tomioka Town, be sure to take a stroll.

Q.

What kind of engineer do you want to be in the future?

To become an engineer who can create a community that can be a source of comfort for people

I aim to make Tomioka a place where people can find comfort and refuge, and I want to work to create a town that can make this a reality.
I believe that the new value of local areas in the future will be "regions that people are curious about and want to visit," rather than tourist destinations. By being involved in town development as someone from outside the prefecture like me, I can spread the appeal of Tomioka Town to the rest of the country from a new perspective, and I aim to be an engineer involved in this kind of community development that can resonate with the townspeople. I want to become an engineer who can create a region that is like a third place, where people can come and feel at peace.
