Please tell us why you decided to join Futaba.
Impressed by the efforts to create a better city
I wanted to be involved in the reconstruction of my hometown, Futaba County, and I became interested in Futaba, which is working on reconstruction using not only surveying but also cutting-edge technology. I was impressed by their efforts to create a better town, which included proactively holding workshops to hear the opinions of local residents, and I applied, wanting to find out what I could do through technology.
When did you decide to make a name for yourself locally?
I want to be involved in new "town development" in my hometown using the latest technology
Seeing my parents working for the residents of my hometown, Futaba County, made me want to contribute to the development of the area. Seeing how cutting-edge technology was being used not only to restore the scenery to what it was before the earthquake, but also to create a new town, inspired me to want to learn computer engineering, the foundation of technology, and use it to help develop the new town of Futaba County.
With a heartfelt desire to give back to Futaba County, where I was born and raised, and Fukushima Prefecture, I hope to contribute to the reconstruction efforts and improve my own skills.
Please tell us about the atmosphere you felt inside the company after joining the company.
A stimulating atmosphere with interaction with various departments
I myself have never had any experience in the surveying industry, so there are many things I don't understand, but my seniors not only support me in my work but also kindly talk to me on a daily basis, and there is an atmosphere where I can ask questions without hesitation even if I don't understand something. I also have many opportunities to interact with people from other departments both inside and outside of work, which stimulates me in many ways.
What kind of engineer do you want to be in the future?
Engineers who can handle everything from traditional surveying to cutting-edge equipment
I would like to contribute to the community in any way I can.
Our company mainly conducts work in Futaba County, utilizing traditional surveying techniques as well as the latest equipment such as laser scanners. By acquiring traditional surveying techniques through this work and gaining a wealth of knowledge on how to utilize new technologies, I hope to be able to actively work on projects not only in Futaba County but also within and outside Fukushima Prefecture.
Message to job seekers
A company that can create new towns
Although the population of Tomioka Town, where our head office is located, is smaller than it was before the earthquake, we can sense hope for the future from the town's development, which has looked seriously to the future. With various initiatives underway to rebuild the town after the earthquake and create a new town, we believe there is more that you can do than you might imagine. We encourage you to visit Tomioka at least once.
