The 3rd Fukushima Reconstruction Wine Seminar was held at Koriyama Central Community Center on Saturday, February 27th. Approximately 90 people participated, including national, prefectural, and municipal officials, as well as university and local residents. Professor Goro Okamoto, Honorary Oral Professor at Okayama University, gave a lecture on grape cultivation. This was followed by a panel discussion. The coordinator was Professor Ozawa, Vice President of Fukushima University. The panelists were Professor Okuda, Director of the Wine Science Research Center at Yamanashi University, Associate Professor Norifuji of Fukushima University, Mr. Ide, Chairman of the Kawauchi Village Chamber of Commerce, and myself. We discussed the theme of "Wineries in the Community: Fukushima Reconstruction, New Agriculture, and Human Resource Development." Winemaking creates a new culture. It's a modest but important endeavor.
