Hopes for the recovery of Futaba County
The day before yesterday I was in Sendai, and yesterday in Tokyo and Nagoya. Today I went to Shizuoka and Tokyo, and I'd like to take this opportunity to gather together the things that have been bothering me and take action, and to see a glimpse into the future. I've been involved in projects large and small in nearly 30 countries, both domestically and internationally. The large projects were worth hundreds of billions of yen. I was nervous enough to shake my hands, moved, and rewarded. However, the Fukushima and Futaba District revitalization project requires a broader perspective and depth than I've ever experienced before. My experience and skills are truly insignificant. That's why I must study, see many things, meet many people and listen humbly, and truly understand the feelings of the evacuees. I must take on this challenge as an engineer, consultant, and resident of Fukushima Prefecture. I believe that something new will emerge from Fukushima and Futaba District, and that it will set a global standard.
